Ms. Mackler is a graduate of Cornell University (1985 B.S.) and received her law degree from Boston College Law School (1990 J.D., cum laude).
Ms. Mackler joined Howd & Ludorf as a partner in our Wellesley, MA office in August 2012, with over twenty years experience in broad-based complex litigation and trial practice with emphasis in defense of toxic tort and product liability matters, including asbestos, lead paint, latex, pesticides, mold, carbon monoxide, diesel exhaust, benzene and other chemical-related litigation.Ms. Mackler is experienced in handling all aspects of the litigation process, from discovery and motion practice to trial, negotiations and mediations. Ms. Mackler brings experience in waging Daubert-Lanigan challenges of plaintiffs’ medical and scientific experts, specializing in researching and writing briefs on complex medical, scientific and technical issues and participating in evidentiary hearings.Prior to joining Howd & Ludorf, Ms. Mackler practiced with the law firm of Curley & Curley, P.C. in Boston, MA for fourteen years where she expanded her toxic tort practice and developed several asbestos clients that she continues to represent at Howd & Ludorf, including a national aviation defendant, paper mill equipment manufacturer and New England based railroad.Additionally, she defends non-asbestos toxic tort litigation matters for the railroad and various other clients.Ms. Mackler practiced for her first eight years as an attorney gaining complex litigation experience from her work in the toxic torts and general trial departments of Burns & Levinson. In addition to her toxic tort experience, Ms.Mackler is experienced in defending general product liability and civil litigation matters, including employment, construction defects and accidents and premises liability. Ms. Mackler has also been involved with several insurance coverage matters and has developed and presented a training seminar for the interpretation of contractor general liability policies. Ms. Mackler has published articles in the Best of MCLE Journal (Law of Scientific and Technical Evidence and Working with Experts) and Boston College Environmental Affairs Law Review.
